Born in Hong Kong, Teresa Cheung is an actress and executive film producer based in Los Angeles. In 2008, she served as an executive producer and appeared in Oliver Stone’s film W., a biopic about the forty-third president of the United States. After working with Teresa Cheung, Stone described her as brilliant, world-traveled, and talented as both an actress and producer. In 2001, 20th Century Fox approached Teresa Cheung to help promote Baz Luhrmann’s Moulin Rouge in Hong Kong. The studio used her self-titled boutique to erect an enormous promotional windmill inside the shop, where she and director Luhrmann conducted interviews with the Asian press.
Mainland China CCTV, a renowned artist management agency, chose Teresa Cheung as its first foreign client. She has used her celebrity status to effect change in the world, and she serves as the International Ambassador for Youth for Human Rights International. She qualified for a U.S. Green Card on the basis of “extraordinary ability,” and she also maintains Canadian citizenship.
